Back on Track (BOT)

Ontario's remedial measures program for impaired driving offences.

Back on Track addresses impaired driving by focusing on the underlying relationship between substance use and risk-taking behaviour. Substance-related driving offences are rarely isolated incidents and are often connected to broader patterns of alcohol or drug misuse.

Mandated under the Highway Traffic Act, Back on Track is developed and provincially overseen by CAMH on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. The program provides education and treatment that separate substance use from driving and is required for driver’s licence reinstatement. Delivered locally by LLGAMH under contract with CAMH, the program brings evidence-based addiction expertise to participants—reducing repeat impaired driving, supporting behaviour change, improving public safety, and connecting participants to addiction supports where needed.
